Glass Testing Job

Once upon a time in Melbourne, a rather ordinary woman named Sarah lived a rather ordinary life. In a drab office job, she spent her days managing spreadsheets and struggling to keep her eyes open through endless meetings. But her mundane existence left her yearning for something more, something thrilling.

During a dreary afternoon, while sipping her lukewarm coffee and scrolling through the local classifieds on her lunch break, an ad caught her eye. “Help pioneer the future! Test experimental glass at WindoSolutions Labs!” it read. Intrigued by the promise of something more exciting than data entry and eager for a change, Sarah signed up, silently hoping she had just stumbled upon an adventure.

Days later, Sarah walked through the impressive doors of WindoSolutions Labs, a renowned commercial window tinting business offering service in Melbourne. The building was a marvel, its exterior a jigsaw of artistically designed decorative glass. She’d never seen anything quite like it.

Inside, Sarah found herself immersed in the bustling heart of a company teetering on the brink of innovation. Colourful window tinting danced with shades of the rainbow under the bright sunlight, while employees hurried around with an infectious energy, their enthusiasm starkly contrasting with the grey, lifeless office she was used to.

She was introduced to the company’s new venture: ‘portal glass’, a revolutionary technology that promised to transport a person from one piece of glass to another in the blink of an eye. Initially taken aback but unwilling to back down from a challenge, she signed the requisite paperwork, steeling herself for the extraordinary venture.

As she was guided through the premises by an overly enthusiastic employee named Fred, he let slip some comments that should have set off alarm bells. “Mind you, the last tester got a bit… stuck. But we’ve ironed out the kinks! Probably.” He chuckled nervously.

Sarah dismissed the unease creeping up her spine, convincing herself that Fred was just bad at making jokes. But as she stepped into the testing area, an ominous feeling washed over her. This was no ordinary job, and she was about to find out just how far from ordinary her life was about to become.
