Ute Upgrade

The boys at work love my ute canopy! As soon as I drove up to the worksite, I saw at least ten of them turn their heads. I even heard a couple of gasps. My closest mates ran up to my ute to check it out and they were genuinely in awe of the premium quality of the ute canopy. I’m the most popular guy on the worksite this morning.

I was talking to all the boys on smoko and they were quizzing me on where I got such high-quality aluminium ute canopies installed. I told them that a girl did it for me as a thank you present and they all jumped around like madmen. They thought it meant that I had a girlfriend that I’d never told them about, but I quickly shut that idea down. I just said that we’re best friends and that she wanted to show me how grateful she is for everything I do for her, and that they should try being nice to girls for once without having any ulterior motive. They were kind of bewildered at that concept, but that’s why they don’t have close friends buying them insanely expensive thank you presents.

Now that my friend has done such a kind thing for me and had a canopy installed on my ute, I can use the money I was saving to start upgrading my second-hand ute. It’s not the best car going around, but it’ll be good once I add everything that needs to be added to it. The first upgrade I’m going to make to my second-hand truck is to add a ute toolbox. In the Melbourne area, there aren’t many jobs a tradie can do properly without having all their tools with them, so I need a toolbox on my ute at the very minimum.

It makes sense to start with the basics and work my way up. Now that my new ute is fully upgraded thanks to my friend, it’s time to start upgrading my second.
